How Well Do You Know the Biz of the Biz?
Well, you’re going to need to study up if you want to make it in entertainment! And lucky you, you don’t have to spring for the cost of a subscription to Variety or The Hollywood Reporter if you don’t want to.
There is a relatively new online source: Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily. A columnist for The LA Weekly, she’s been penning this on-going online version since 2002, but she really hit her stride covering breaking news during the 2007 – 2008 Writer’s Strike.
While you still might want the trades for more day-to-day news (who is buying what project, who just got attached to star, who signed an overall deal with a studio, executive shuffles and the like), you can count on Nikki Finke to give you the inside scoop (which is often not the same as the official story) on the big, juicy stories of the day. Check it out!
