You may have gotten a copy of the below audio file emailed to you:

http://www.wwtdd.com/post.phtml?pk=18481

Or you might’ve seen a story about it on any number of media outlets, including “The Today Show” and “The View.”

Christian Bale had an extended tirade on the set of a movie directed at a cinematographer who was walking around checking the lighting during a shot. Christian was upset that the crew member ruined his focus and had a protracted “discussion” with the guy, dropping the F-bomb 37 times at him and others (including the film’s director) who were trying to calm him down.

Or you might’ve heard about or even seen a British tabloid’s photograph of Olympian Michael Phelps taking a bong hit at a party on a college campus.

Now Michael Phelps is a worldwide superstar athlete being trailed by the media 24/7 and Christian Bale was wearing a live microphone (it was a film set, after all) and we “normal people” don’t usually deal with paparazzi or walk around with a sound man recording our every word, BUT in this age of the Internet, we must almost act as if we do.

All of your friends have camera phones and some of those phones even shoot video. In about four seconds, an otherwise harmless indiscretion can become internet fodder living on well past when the controlled substance- or the anger- wears off.

Let’s try and remember that, okay? You don’t need to have Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck discussing your “moment of glory” in order for your lives to be negatively impacted, right?
